Praise and Worship: Why do it?
God is our Creator, whether we like it or not. He made the universe and all that is in it. He created us that we may worship Him. Even the angels and the elders worship Him because He is worthy of our devotion. The psalmist says in Psalm 96:9 ‘worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness’ and in Psalm 29:2 ‘worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness’. These are commands that ask us to worship the Lord our God alone and no one or nothing else.
When we do not worship, we can become miserable. God has a perfect plan for each one of our lives. He has no thoughts of harming or screwing us. His plans for us are good, and we can count on Him. He wants us to spend our future in eternity with Him. When we learn to fill our mouths with praise and our hearts with adoration for God and His works in our lives, it gives immense pleasure to God.
