Ruth is the daughter-in-law of Naomi. She was a foreigner who emigrated from Moab to Bethlehem. Ten years earlier Naomi left Bethlehem to Moab with her husband and two sons because of famine. The two sons married the women of Moab one is ruth, and the other is Orpah. Then Naomi’s husband and his two sons died, and they became widows.

Ruth was a young widow, but she did not remarry in Moab, but she came with her mother-in-law Naomi to Bethlehem because she committed herself to the Lord in faith. Then Ruth was surprised by the words of Boaz and thought even though she was a foreigner, he took care of her and showed his kindness. Ruth humbled herself, so God cared for her. Boaz showed the compassion and mercy of God towards ruth, and he married her, and they became the ancestors of Jesus.
In Luke 14: 12-14 Jesus says the best way to give when we call our friends and relatives to the dinner they invite us back to repay, but when we invite and give dinner to the poor and needy, we will be blessed. They will not repay us, but the God who is in heaven will repay greatly.
